Buying Event Tickets Without the Stress

Five checks to run before paying for event tickets: official sources, total cost, delivery, entry rules and keeping your confirmation.

Buying tickets should be the easy part of planning a night out. A few checks before you pay keep it that way.

  1. Start with an official source. Buy from the venue, the promoter or a well-known ticketing platform, and be wary of listings that appear only on social media.
  2. Understand the total cost. Look past the headline price for fees, delivery charges and any restricted-view warnings before you checkout.
  3. Check the delivery method. Confirm how the tickets arrive and when — instant mobile tickets and last-minute transfers are very different experiences.
  4. Know the entry rules. Some venues require the purchasing card, a specific ID, or a particular ticket format at the door.
  5. Keep the confirmation. Save the order email and screenshots so you have everything to hand if anything changes.

One honest note: we do not currently have a US ticketing partner on SaveMeStacks, so this guide carries no affiliate link. It is here because the checks are useful regardless of where you buy.

Prices, fees and availability change constantly — always confirm the current details with the seller before you buy.
